Tomato-bath

Ingredients:
  1. 1/2 cup rice (100 ml)
  2. One large onion
  3. 2 Green chillies
  4. 2 large tomatoes
  5. 1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds
  6. 1/4 tsp mustard
  7. 1/2 tsp Urd dal
  8. 1/2 tsp sambar powder
  9. Oil for frying
  10. Salt to taste

Method of Cooking:

Step 1: Cook the rice by adding lesser water and cool the cooked rice on a large plate.

Step 2: Chop the onions and green chillies fine and keep a side.

Step 3: Quarter the tomatoes and keep aside.

Step 4: Roast the fenugreek seeds until they turn golden brown in colour.  Grind into a fine powder and keep a side.

Step 5: Heat a little oil in a frying pan and add mustard and urd dal.

Step 6: When the mustard crackles, add the green chillies and onion and fry until the onion turns brown.

Step 7: Add the quartered tomatoes and sambar powder and saute for a few minutes.

Step 8: Remove from fire and empty the entire contents of the frying pan into the plate with the rice.

Step 9: Empty the powdered fenugreek seeds into the plate with the rice.

Add salt to taste and mix well and serve.
