Step 1:

Cook the rice by adding lesser water and cool the cooked rice on a large plate.

Chop the onions and green chillies fine and keep a side.
|

Quarter the tomatoes and keep aside.
|

Step 4:

Roast the fenugreek seeds until they turn golden brown in colour. Grind into a fine powder
and keep a side.

Heat a little oil in a frying pan and add mustard and urd dal.

Step 6:

When the mustard crackles, add the green chillies and onion and fry until the onion turns brown.
|

Step 7:

Add the quartered tomatoes and sambar powder and saute for a few minutes.
|

Step 8:

Remove from fire and empty the entire contents of the frying pan into the plate with the rice.
|
|
Step 9:
|
Empty the powdered fenugreek seeds into the plate with the rice.
|
|
|
Add salt to taste and mix well and serve.
