SPONGE CAKE

Preperation Time: 15 minutes.
Cooking Time: 25 minutes.
Serves: xx .
Ingredients:
  1. 4 tb sps melted butter
  2. 85 grams self- raising flour
  3. 3 eggs
  4. 115 grams sugar


Method of Preparation:
 
Step 1: Sieve the flour.
 
Step 2: Grease and dust a baking tin.
 
Step 3: Beat the eggs and sugar very well until thick and double in quantity.
 
Step 4: Fold in the well-sieved flour carefully and gently with a metal spoon.
 
Step 5: Fold in 2 tb sps of hot water and the butter.
 
Step 6: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking tin.
 
Step 7: Bake in a hot oven at 400 degres f, for 15 minutes.
 
Step 8: The cake is ready when it leaves the sides of the tin and is springy to touch.
 
Step 9: Take out from the oven and leave for 1 minute. Invert the tin over a rack and tap sharply to remove.
