CHOCOLATE CHIFFON PIE

Preperation Time: 15 minutes.
Cooking Time: 20 minutes.
Serves: 8 .
Ingredients:
  1. 3 teacup milk
  2. 115 grams shortcrust pastry
  3. 2 tbsps sugar
  4. 85 grams chocolate pudding
  5. 1 tbsp cocoa
  6. 1/2 tbsp vanilla essence sweetened cream and grated chocolate for decoration

Method of Preparation:

Step 1: Roll out the pastry dough on a lightly floured board to fit a 175mm. or 200mm. diameter pie dish.

Step 2: Place the pastry in an ungreased pie dish of this size. Prick with a fork all over.

Step 3: Bake in a hot oven at 450 degres F. for 10 to 12 minutes.

Step 4: Cool the pastry shell.

Step 5: Heat the milk. When slightly hot, add contents of the chocolate pudding packet, cocoa and sugar and mix very well. Heat further and allow to boil for exactly 2 minutes.

Step 6: Cool the mixture and add the vanilla essence.

Step 7: Pour the mixture into prepared pie crust.

Step 8: Set in the freezer compartment of a refrigerator.

Step 9: When set, decorate with sweetened cream and grated chocolate. Store in the refrigerator.

Cut into slices and serve cold.
