VEGETABLE GOLD COIN

Preperation Time: 20 minutes.
Cooking Time: 30 minutes.
Serves: 10 .
Ingredients:
  1. 4 spring onions
  2. 1 big loaf sliced bread
  3. 100 grams carrots
  4. 100 grams french beans
  5. 2 potatoes
  6. 1 large capsicum
  7. 1 small head celery
  8. 1 tsps soya sauce
  9. 1 tsp chilli powder
  10. 1 teacup plainflour
  11. 1/2 tsp Ajinomoto powder
  12. Bread crumbs
  13. 4 tbsps refined oil
  14. Oil for deep frying
  15. Salt to taste
  16. Chilli sauce to serve


Method of Preparation:
 
Step 1: Boil the potatoes and mash them coarsely.
 
Step 2: Chop the vegetables very finely.
 
Step 3: Heat the oil thoroughly in a vessel and add the vegetables and Ajinomoto powder. Cook on a high flame for 3 to 4 minutes.
 
Step 4: Add the potatoes, soya sauce, chilli powder and salt and cook for 3 minutes. Cool the mixture.
 
Step 5: Stamp out small rounds from the bread slice with a biscuit cutter.
 
Step 6: Put a little mixture on each round, and press well by hand.
 
Step 7: Make a paste of the flour in 1/2 teacup of water. Apply this paste over the vegetables.
 
Step 8: Sprinkle the bread crumbs over the vegetables. Deep fry in oil.
 
Serve hot dotted with chilli sauce.
